I'm staying at a vacation rental, do packages have to be signed for?

We ship to rental properties, AirBnBs and VRBOs all the time. While a signature isn't required, you are responsible for your package from the time FedEx delivers it until the time FedEx scans it back into their possession for return. A great option is to ship to a FedEx ShipCenter, which are located all over the country and will often hold your package for up to 5 days until your arrival (confirm at the location closest to you destination). If you're would still prefer to ship to a rental property we strongly recommend contacting the property manager to confirm they can receive packages–and ideally–hold them for you if they arrive early. Packages are delivered by 8pm the night before your first rental day, and up to 5 days prior to your arrival in some cases.

By providing an address to a rental property at checkout, you're confirming that the address is valid and the location is secure (or the property manager will hold your package for you until you arrive). Packages left unattended risk being stolen or moved by the prior renters (treasure hunts are fun; night-before gear hunts are not). Shipping to a business location like work, your hotel, or a FedEx Shipcenter is the best option for your package can be safely received, secured, and held for you. Be sure the center you ship to offers Ground Shipping Services (they will hold your package for up to 5 business days).
